Technology and Devices
The role of technology in health care is constantly growing, and it has the potential to play a large role in improving access to care. For example, online health services, or e-health, can be a good way to bring health services and information to underserved populations. While e-health services cannot and should not replace traditional in-person medical care, e-health tools could greatly expand the accessibility of health care services by reaching those that are currently shut out of the system. Technology is used in wellness programs, managing chronic disease and expanding resources for after hours service to keep people from the costly ER setting.
